Other things todo.
So check this out: http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/2005-02-25-career-moving_x.htm.
Ok, now that I’m sure you’ve all read the article; How refreshing was that? Oh wait you didn’t read the article did you? Well since you didn’t here goes. Basically this guy, Tim Krauskopf, started a small internet company in the early 90’s. You may have heard of it, they were called SpyGlass. No? Well how about Mosiac? Okay? Jeez-us, please refresh yourself on Internet History before you read this blog. Anyway, SpyGlass Mosaic was the first/second internet browser. This later would be come the much beloved/hated Internet Explorer. So this guy is filthy stinkin’ rich.
So now, after several failed attempts to start more companies he decided for a change of pace. His change? He now owns and drives a big-rig. Oh and he also owns the company he works for.
So why is this so important? Well that is really one of my biggest fears, second only to getting stuck in very tight tubes..*shudder*. I really have nothing to fall back on if this whole technology thing goes *POOF*. My whole life has been one big trek down a digital path and I’ve not stopped to smell the roses as they say. But then I hear about stuff like this and I begin to feel a little better (of course this could be because of the massive dose of pain meds also) and I don’t worry so much about the future of my career.
But it also gets me to thinking about what form of career I’d be heading towards. Would I be driving a big-rig across country? How about comic book writer with Frank as my side-kick? I’d like to think I’d land into something interesting and fun. Maybe a butler for a rich oil tycoon? Either way I’m a little less worried knowing that even super-rich tech nerds can find something they enjoy in the digital afterlife.
We prefer the term "hero assitants", thank you.
Err. that should have been assistants, but assitants is actually more funny.
Speaking of which, I’m about to send out my resumee. Sure, I promised I’d send it at the end of February, so I’m running a few hours late. Also, it’s a draft; it’s crap, but if it weren’t crap I’d never send it out.

So if it’s a draft. If you want, let me know what you think. Otherwise, I’ll send out the final within a week from now.
Well the only thing I can suggest is for you to begin learning the Spanish language and Mexican culture, periodically make trips to the tanning bed (not so frequent that the other techies will notice, I hear they can be cruel) Having followed these simple tasks you are now prepared for the fall of the technology industry. in the event of this happening you will have to quickly sell everything you own on ebay, you will be able to do anything you ever wanted to anybody, kick bosses or co-workers in the shin, etc. then just drive cross country to Cali. and get a job working under the table for a winery picking grapes. You will be able to assimilate quite easily with your knowledge of the spanish language and mexican culture and you won’t get terribly sunburnt because you will have eased your skin into it. That sounds like the life, no responsibility and all the grapes you can eat and drink, probably.
