Metro Rail to Tyson’s and beyond.
Yo! Douche Bag Johnson, the metro will also benefit us wealthy people out in Reston/Herndon/Oakton/WolfTrap too. Why is it always about Tyson’s? What’s so good about Tyson’s Corner besides the vast monument to capitalism that is the mall, the home to Booze Allen Hamilton, BearingPoint and my company? If there were no Tyson’s corner where would you get your Prada Bags or Tiffany’s necklace?
Do I care that the toll went up 25 cents at the plaza and the off ramps? Not really. What are my choices? Route 7? Fuck that road. Route 66? Please kill me now. I moved to Reston because I like the community and it’s close to a major artery that doesn’t suck shit 24 hours a day. Would you still be bitching if they raised it 25 cents to add 2 more lanes to the Toll Road? Probably since we’d be digging up all those pretty tree’s on the side of the roads or even destroying the median which is what’s gonna happen anyway.
Now you know what a smart idea would be? Allow certain motorists maybe HOV-4 to use the airport access roads or maybe reduce the cost for HOVer’s and have more cops handing out fines for people that don’t follow the rules. Say the fine is 500 bucks, this morning the toll road would have made on the order of 10,000 bucks just for the 20 minutes I was on the toll road.
You do know that Virginia isn’t the only state to increase toll road costs to cover congestion issues right? Maryland is looking todo it for I-270 and I-95 to help with the congestion of I-495. You do know the HOT lanes agreement has been signed too right? Even though the developers are using thier own money for this project are you gonna bitch about the cost for that too?
I can’t stand it when people play the “If you support our troops then you won’t support them” card for stupid shit. Wait for it any second now I’m gonna be called unpatriotic. I’m totally patriotic there are times where you will hear shout from the highest point of those Tyson’s Corner buildings about how we should nuke the world and then build a metro center in each country. You know what I am? I’m for the killing of idiots like you.
Bitch and complain about it all you want, it’s gonna happen. You know what this is? It’s called making me richer. Metro comes to Reston, my home equity skyrockets and then I use $100 bills to light my cigarettes. What happens to you? You get forgotten in a sea of people that don’t matter. Use all this pent up energy and fight for something worthwhile. I hear there is a tribe in Africa that is getting systematically wiped out or better yet fight for more nipple slips by female actress.
Okay first, a Metro extension to Belvior isn’t going to happen. So lets just slide that off the table.

<br />Northern VA has MORE than enough money to fund the upfront cost of the Metro. Real Estate taxes alone could cover this, BUT Northern VA has to subsidize a good portion of the rest of the state. That’s what irks me.

<br />Can’t northern VA succeed from the rest of the state and maybe merge with Montgomery County to form a new Blue state? We’d be right next to West Virginia and could call ourselves something lame like "Best Virginia".
