Dorrance Ct. G2G*

Dorrance Ct Get 2-Gether

So Jessi and I had the pleasure Sunday of attending a Dorrance Ct. Get Together Brunch with all our neighbors. It wasn’t bad, got to eat some good quiche and fresh fruit.and mingled with the other neighbors and find out about things that I’ll need to replace in the house after awhile. I think we beat the youngest person there by about 8 years. Most everyone appeared to be in the mid 30’s to probably 80’s. One lady even proudly told everyone that she was a surviving cancer patient, which I guess was a bit odd but somewhat gratifying for her.

After all the food and small chit-chat we were asked to sit around the host’s living room and basically do a “What I did on my summer vacation” type of report.

  • How many people live in your house?
  • Do you have pets?
  • What is your occupation?
  • Why did you pick this neighborhood?

Stuff like that. I was a bit uncomfortable about giving too much up but I think I gave enough to satisfy them.

I was really surprised at the number of entrepreneur in our little space. I’d say at least half of them either currently own or have owned their own business. Some interior designers, a business assessment company and a custom home improvement builder were just a few I heard.

Everyone wanted to hear about the new people and some even said that they will be stopping by the house warming event but I’m not sure we lived up to the hype. Of course everyone wanted to know about the Bray and Scarff truck in front of our house and they wanted to see the hard wood floors we put in but all in all no body was really pushy, though I did find out they they were trying to milk Brian (our realtor and neighbor) for information about what we paid. He was good about playing dumb and hopefully that will be the end of that conversation.
