MI:III

Mission Possible

So Friday, Jessi and I decided to bounce out early and grab some food at Taste of Saigon. It was okay, got some tofu and veggies. Instead of heading back to work we went and checked out Mission Impossible 3.

**** Possible Spoiler ****  You have been warned ****

Now let me be honest. The only reason to see this movie, for me anyway, is to watch the Superman Returns trailer on the big screen (I’ve not ripped it to DVD yet for my own home viewing). Of course Reston Town Center completely lets me down and I get old trailers for The Hedge and Pirates of the Carribean.

Now the movie actually wasn’t half bad, though you can really guess the outcome of the movie within the first 30 minutes. I have to give it to JJ Abrams though, the opening 10 minutes have you completely hooked.

There are not enough good things to say about how good Philip Seymour Hoffman is in this flick. He plays one of those just really awesome bad guys. I kept thinking to myself that this character would have worked better against a James Bond character then Ethan Hunt. His ending was dissapointing and I’ll leave it at that.

Laurence Fishburn and Simon Pegg were welcome additions to this flick. They both brought some great levity to the flick and I wished there was more screen time for Simon Pegg, since I find him hilarious.

Go see it, you won’t feel as though it was time or money wasted. Of course the benefit of checking out the Superman Trailer doesn’t hurt either.
