Music catch up time..
Is it just me, or is Outkast’s new track catchy as all hell? I’m very interested in actually checking out the movie. Most people seem to be panning the flick but the fact that Outkast made, basically, a musical is intreging to me.
Speaking of random music, I discovered a new station on my FiOS called IMF or International Music Feed. So far they’ve only really played American music. But they did play some Japanese rock band called An Cafe (J-Rock?!), I think. Anyway those crazy Japanese had one of the more interesting videos on the channel (read: holy god, I wanted to gouge my eyes out). Anyway, up next is the Latin Bridge where I get to connect to all the wonderful Latin Pop music. Oh and I just got an email for “The Best of Farmclub.” OMFG!!1111 Does anyone else remember that show? Or was I the only one that thought that show was great, even Matt Pinfield was slightly tolerable. HA! Even the domain name farmclub.com points to IMF’s website. Awesome!
Also, even if you don’t go check out Snakes on a Plane, atleast give the soundtrack a listen. You seem most the tracks are from bands from Fueled By Ramen. This is a label I’ve been following for awhile, since I first heard the Gym Class Hero’s album so many years ago. I still rock the album quite a lot. Most of you would probably recognize the more popular acts, Fall Out Boy, Panic! at the Disco and Less Than Jake. While not to diminish those fine bands, I actually perfer The Academy Is.. and Gym Class more. I’m really digging stuff also from Cute is What We Aim For and Paramore. I plan to spend more time with the other labels offerings.
Most of the tracks on the album are remixes of songs already out there. There is the SOAP theme track from Trevor Rabin, which is just as campy as the flick. So basically a perfect fit. Also there is a new track from Cobra Starship (with some help from The Sounds, The Academy Is…, and Gym Class Hero’s) that’s getting some airplay on a few channels I listen to on XM.
Oh and there’s a great track from Cee-Lo Green.
saw LTJ many years ago at PSU…they had some pneumatic toilet papering gun…covered the audience in 2-ply…was awesome…til the sweat mixed with the paper…then it got nasty.
