QOTD: Are bumper stickers still an effective means of advertising?

Bumper Stickers?

In the anaugrial edition of QOTD (aka Question Of The Day), I’m asking if bumper stickers are cars are really an effective way of advertising. And I’m grouping all types in here not just political ones. Schools, Armed Forces, etc., etc.

You see, I was riding (Jessi drove) in the car on the way to work and since I don’t have to pay attention to the road that much, I just stare out the window and either count cars (by type not just the number of them) or listen to the music on the radio. For some reason today I started paying attention to the bumper stickers on some of the cars on the road.

My opinion is that they still have some special place out there in the advertising world but mostly as a means of scoring some free tickets from the local radio station if they see the sticker on your car. Other then that I don’t think it’s all that important any more and actually makes the car quite unsightly. What makes it worse is that the number of political bumper stickers far out weight any thing else.

How bout ya’ll?
