South of Market (RTC Edition)

Not to be confused with South of Market in San Fran, Reston Town Center is getting it’s own SoMa area soon with a load of new restaurants and shops. After doing a little digging I’ve found a list of new places coming soon.
- The Counter - Voted in GQ as one of the “20 Hamburgers You Must Eat Before You Die”. Could give Cheeburger Cheeburger in Ashburn and Five Guys a run.
- Mon Ami Gabi - French Cuisine from the people at “Lettuce Entertain You”. The same people that brought Big Bowl to the RTC and Wildfire to Tyson’s. There is a Bethesda location, may have to try it before it opens at home. I also need to sign up for a frequent diners card too.
- Jackson’s - A new restaurant from “Great American Restaurants” who are the ones behind Coastal Flats, Artie’s and Sweet Water Tavern. This could be awesome.
- Unnamed Passion Food Hospitality restaurant - Does the names “TenPenh” or “DC Coast” sound familiar? Most definitely going to be awesome.
- Marvelous Market - Described as a gourmet convenience store. They list Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee as something they sell. I’m sold on them.
- The Chocolate Grill - Chowhound says that they are going to go in where Ruby Tuesday used to be. Kinda of sucks since Jessi and I met the proprietor of Fado last year and he said they were hoping to move in there. Maybe while we are in Vegas this weekend we can check this place out before it shows up.
So that is what I’ve found so far for food. New stores include: J Crew, Anthropologie, The Bike Lane and The Paper Source. Can’t wait until this is all done and ready to go.
