I actually like Vista
August 19th, 2008 · No Comments
Though to be fair, it took a Service Pack and a faster machine for me to come to this conclusion. Even better (with some caveats) is Windows Server 2008 configured as a workstation.
So will I make my MBP exclusively a Windows machine? No, but I won’t be afraid of booting into Windows anymore.
Apple stuff
June 11th, 2008 · No Comments
So unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ve probably heard about the Apple event that is going on this week. Some of you may even be surprised to actually hear that it’s a week long event for developers and not just a 2 hour event where Steve Jobs showed off the new iPhone. [...]

Business Card Shuffle
April 17th, 2008 · 1 Comment
You know the part at the beginning when you introduce yourself and the person you are meeting with introduces themselves. Then this process of trading business cards happens. They drop a card on the table or hand you one but most of the time it’s a drop on the table and then a slide, then [...]
Google Contacts .net Library
March 28th, 2008 · 2 Comments
Something I’ve been working on for another project and until Google updates their official library here is my own version. There are few missing pieces but for the most part it’s all there. I’ll post updates to the code as I make them but for now if you are familiar with the way the current [...]
Favorite Things

Tip of the hat to California Brent for sending me this link about the combination of two of my favorite things. Aston Martin and .Net development.
The highlight for me comes at 1hr 55 minutes into the session when Marek Reichman, Design Director of Aston Martin hands over to a video showing a proof [...]

iPhone kits
March 9th, 2008 · No Comments
So, unless you’ve been under a rock, the iPhone SDK was released last Thursday. I’ve been fooling with it since Friday night and I have to say that development for the iPhone is actually quite simple. Following the MVC model actually makes it quite approachable for me since all my web development is MVC based.
The [...]

I’m an Adobe Nerd

So I hit the Adobe onAIR Bus Tour stop at The State Theater in Falls Church. I apparently wasn’t very good at hiding myself from the camera.
Put the mouse down..

Coding Horror:
One of the quickest ways to increase your productivity on the computer is to go commando: stop using the mouse. When you stop relying on the mouse for everything, you’re forced to learn the keyboard shortcuts. Jeremy Miller calls this the first step to coding faster. I agree.
Most people know that I use [...]
Have a public facing Sharepoint 2007 install? Turn off the SmartTags/Name.dll!
March 8th, 2007 · No Comments
Honestly, it’s bad enough that I’m being force feed IE7 on this machine but now with all the increased Sharepoint 2007 work I’m doing, I’m constantly looking for/reading information about the product. It’s cool that most people are eating their own dog food and running SPoint 2k7 on their sites but for the love of [...]
When the Roomba won’t get you a beer.
January 8th, 2007 · No Comments
I was wondering the other day, why can’t I just call iRobot (makers of the Roomba) and ask them to make a Roomba that will mob, vacuum and then fetch me a beer.
Apparently I wasn’t the only thinking that and now iRobot has the new Create.
Ready to create a robot so technologically advanced [...]

photo sharing.
December 12th, 2004 · No Comments
So I’ve been checking out some photo sharing sites lately. Now I’m not a big photo guy. I have a hand me down Digital Elph and my P910 camera fone so I generally have the chance to take a quick foto wherever I may roam. But yet I still don’t do it but I’m trying [...]
PC’s are better then Mac’s.. please..
September 30th, 2004 · 3 Comments
I switched. I’m rocking my new PowerBook G4 17″. I love it. Can’t believe I ever lived without it. But I still have this nagging thing in the back of my head. It’s my friends that swear macs suck. Well my friends read this then read this. Then I want you to shut up because [...]
I love this..

As a web developer I’m constantly amazed at how far Internet Explorer has fallen behind in just the past year. I think all the security problems and the lack of compliance is really starting to chip away at the behemoth. Firefox and Opera are definetly going for the throat when they can. Hell, even the [...]
